Specialized focus
One setup. More control.
Turned diameters, off-center holes, cross-drilled patterns, keyways, slots, and complex end faces can be completed while the workpiece remains clamped.
Integrated process
Turning and milling without repeated setups
Traditional machining often requires transferring a part between a lathe and a mill. Each transfer can add cycle time, tolerance stacking, and the risk of workholding-related distortion.
Our mill-turn process consolidates these operations. By machining complex features while the aluminum workpiece remains clamped, we preserve datum alignment between turned and milled surfaces and reduce the need for secondary setups.
Off-center holes
Accurate radial and cross-drilled features on rotational parts.
Slots and keyways
Milled interfaces aligned directly to turned datums.
Complex end faces
Prismatic end features completed in the same machining cycle.
Technical capability
Built for high-speed aluminum processing
Our CNC equipment and process planning are configured for rapid material removal while maintaining the tight tolerances required for functional mechanical components.

Why mill-turn for aluminum?
More control over precision and consistency
Reduced tolerance stacking
Completing the majority of features in one cycle maintains strict datum alignment between turned diameters and milled features.
Deformation control
Fewer clamping operations help preserve thin-walled aluminum parts and reduce warping caused by repeated workholding adjustments.
Process efficiency
Consolidated operations reduce handling time and improve consistency across prototypes, low-volume projects, and batch production.
Application fit
Optimized for rotational parts with complex geometry
Mill-turn is suited to components that combine rotational symmetry with prismatic features such as side holes, mounting flats, slots, and intricate end-face profiles.
Motor and encoder housings
Precise bearing bores with external mounting features.
Manifolds and fluid components
Internal channels aligned with external ports.
Optical mounts
High concentricity and controlled surface finish.
Robot joints and actuators
Structural rigidity with precise interface points.
Precision shafts and couplers
Complex milled slots, flats, and cross-holes integrated into turned forms.
Aluminum expertise
A focused process for aluminum alloys
CNCALPARTS does not process steel, brass, or plastics. This exclusive focus allows us to optimize tooling libraries, cutting speeds, and chip evacuation strategies specifically for aluminum alloys.
Our process addresses common aluminum machining challenges, including chip management in deep pockets and vibration control during high-speed milling.
