Why aluminum specialization matters
One material. Better process control.
Generalist machine shops often switch between different metals, creating risks from cross-contamination and inconsistent process parameters. Our entire facility is calibrated specifically for aluminum alloys, including 6061, 7075, 6082, and 5052.
From 3-axis and 5-axis milling centers to precision turning lathes, our tooling, workholding, and thermal management processes are optimized for aluminum. This helps control internal stress, reduce thin-wall deformation, and maintain consistent dimensional accuracy.
Stable machining conditions
Dedicated parameters for aluminum cutting, chip evacuation, and heat management.
Engineering consistency
A focused process from prototype review through repeat production.
Clear anodizing for aluminum parts
Protect the part without hiding the metal.
Clear anodizing creates a transparent protective oxide layer that preserves the natural metallic appearance of aluminum while improving corrosion resistance and surface hardness.
Surface preparation
Bead blasting creates a uniform, non-reflective matte texture that helps hide minor tool marks. A standard machined finish maintains a brighter, semi-reflective appearance.
Alloy appearance
Different alloys react differently. 6061 typically produces a clean, silvery finish, while higher-copper alloys such as 2024 may show a slight yellowish or greyish tint.
Dimensional planning
The anodized layer typically adds 0.005–0.02 mm to the surface thickness. We account for this build-up during CNC machining so finished parts remain within tolerance.
