Why aluminum-only matters
A manufacturing strategy built around cosmetic aluminum
Most machine shops process a mix of steel, plastic, and aluminum. Our focused aluminum strategy allows us to optimize tool geometry, cutting parameters, and workholding for aluminum’s thermal expansion and ductility.
The result is tighter control over dimensional accuracy and surface integrity before finishing begins. This is especially important when machining parts that will receive decorative anodizing, where scratches, tool marks, and inconsistent preparation can become permanently visible.
Cosmetic process control
Engineering details that protect the finished appearance
Cosmetic components require a different machining mindset from structural parts. We plan the machining and finishing route together, from A-side definition through inspection.
A-side definition
We identify the visible surface before machining and orient it in the fixture to avoid clamps, witness marks, and excessive tool paths.
Tool path optimization
Specialized finishing passes and high-speed machining strategies help minimize visible machining lines on curved and flat surfaces.
Racking point planning
Electrical contact points for anodizing are coordinated and placed on non-visible surfaces wherever the design allows.
Scratch control
Finished parts are handled individually with gloves and protective packaging. Cosmetic components are not bulk-tumbled.
Batch consistency
Anodizing batches are managed to reduce color variation when multiple production lots must match visually.
Design review
Define the finish before production
Share your drawings and identify the A-side, anodizing color, roughness target, and acceptable racking areas.

Match the surface to the application
Select a finishing route that supports appearance, wear resistance, and the functional needs of your aluminum part.
Standard and hard anodizing
Standard anodizing is available in clear, black, and various colors for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Hard anodizing supports high-wear applications requiring increased surface hardness.
CNC capabilities
Prototype development through production scaling
Capabilities are selected for aluminum components where dimensional control and surface integrity are equally important.
