Machining MIC-6 Cast Aluminum Plate
For applications demanding extreme dimensional stability and precision, we specialize in machining MIC-6 cast aluminum tooling plates. MIC-6 is our preferred material for parts where flatness, parallelism, and long-term stability are critical. Because MIC-6 is a stress-relieved cast aluminum plate, it behaves differently than rolled alloys like 6061.
Dimensional Stability
The casting process results in a material with low internal stress. When you remove material, the part does not warp or "spring" out of tolerance.
Superior Flatness
We utilize MIC-6 for precision bases, vacuum chucks, assembly fixtures, and optical mounting plates where flatness tolerances down to 0.02 mm are required.
Machinability
MIC-6 offers excellent cutting characteristics, allowing for high-speed machining with precise surface finishes—ideal for complex, thin-walled, or high-accuracy structural components.
