Precision Thread Machining for Aluminum Components
CNCALPARTS provides high-precision aluminum CNC machining with a dedicated focus on thread integrity. We produce complex, tight-tolerance threads for housings, enclosures, and structural components with consistent control over pitch accuracy, effective diameter, and surface finish.

The engineering challenge
Aluminum threading requires controlled cutting
Aluminum is a ductile, gummy material that requires precise control of cutting speeds, chip evacuation, and lubrication. Without the right process, tearing and built-up edge can compromise the thread surface and form.
Inaccurate threading can lead to galling during assembly, loose fits, or failure to meet gauge requirements. CNCALPARTS optimizes tool paths and feed rates for aluminum alloys so internal and external threads remain clean, accurate, and structurally sound.
Thread form
Complete, clean profiles without tearing.
Pitch accuracy
Controlled feed and tool paths.
Assembly fit
Reliable engagement and gauging.

Process selection
Thread milling or CNC tapping?
We select the optimal method based on part geometry, thread size, and production volume.
Thread Milling
Recommended for complex, deep, or non-standard threads. It offers better chip control, superior surface finishes, and precise adjustment of pitch diameter. It is preferred for high-value components where thread integrity is critical.
CNC Tapping
Used for standard, high-volume production runs. High-performance taps coated for aluminum help minimize friction and prevent material deformation.
Finishing control
Protecting thread fit after anodizing
Anodizing adds an oxide layer that changes final dimensions. We calculate material removal and thread sizing around your required finishing process so threads remain within tolerance after clear anodizing, hard coat, or powder coating.
The result
Threads are designed to avoid binding or loose fits during final assembly.
Complex assembly support
Specialized features for demanding parts
- Fine-pitch threads: For optical components and precision adjustment mechanisms.
- Deep-hole threading: Maintaining perpendicularity and pitch accuracy in deep-bored holes.
- Small-diameter threads: Thread form integrity for M1.6–M3 sizes.
- Multi-sided threading: 4-axis and 5-axis setups for accurate thread locations across multiple faces.
Why aluminum only
A dedicated process for repeatable results
Dedicated tooling and coolant
Aluminum-focused tooling, coolants, and workholding reduce process variation and cross-contamination.
Stable process parameters
Specialized cutting conditions support better repeatability and tighter tolerances across production runs.
Quality assurance for every threaded component
Calibrated thread plug and ring gauges verify pitch diameter and thread form. For critical assemblies, dimensional inspection reports confirm thread locations and tolerances against engineering drawings.
