Precision Aluminum CNC Machining

Flatness & Parallelism Control for Critical Aluminum Parts

Maintain demanding geometric tolerances across structural plates, sealing surfaces, optical mounts, and precision assemblies. CNCALPARTS manages aluminum stress, workholding, machining sequence, and inspection from first article through production.

Built around geometric stability

Material behavior is managed before, during, and after cutting so the part is evaluated in its intended geometric state.

The engineering challenge

Aluminum stress can reshape a precise design.

6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminum can contain internal stresses from rolling and heat treatment. When deep pockets, thin walls, or large areas of material are removed, those stresses may release and cause bowing or distortion.

01

Balanced removal

Tool paths distribute material removal across both sides to keep stress release symmetrical.

02

Stress relief

Roughing is followed by a stabilization period before critical finish machining.

03

Thermal control

Coolant flow and cutting parameters are monitored to limit localized heat and temporary deformation.

Process control

How we protect flatness and parallelism

Tight geometry depends on more than machine capability. Workholding, datum strategy, machining order, and inspection must work together.

A

Advanced workholding

Traditional clamping can create the very flatness deviation a part is meant to avoid. Vacuum chucks, custom soft jaws, and low-profile fixture plates secure the part while minimizing pressure points and induced mechanical stress.

  • Supports the workpiece without forcing distortion into the setup.
  • Maintains the intended geometric state during machining and release.
B

Parallelism control

Opposing faces are produced through controlled operation sequences, precision indexing, and multi-axis positioning. When a part must be flipped, reference datums established during the initial setup align the second side with the first.

  • Reduces re-fixturing and cumulative positioning error.
  • Preserves datum integrity across both machining sides.

Application fit

Geometry that supports reliable assembly and performance

Our aluminum-only process is suited to components where a stable interface surface is essential.

Base plates & mounting frames

Flatness supports stable assembly and repeatable mounting.

Sealing manifolds

Accurate surfaces help protect O-ring seal integrity.

Optical enclosures

Parallel faces support sensor and lens alignment.

Robotic structural components

Precise interfaces enable repeatable system performance.

Our aluminum-only advantage

One material category. A deeply optimized process.

General-purpose machine shops move between steel, stainless, and plastic, each requiring different tool geometries and cutting speeds. CNCALPARTS focuses exclusively on aluminum, optimizing tooling, chip evacuation, feed rates, surface finish, and inspection protocols for this material family.

The same controlled process supports a fast prototype or a batch of 500 units, helping maintain consistency from early validation through production.
